You Should know the Industrial Engineering Department ! Before Entering There

Before stepping into the world of lectures we must be able to get to know the majors in the lectures so that we are not wrong in choosing majors. therefore we must understand the majors that we will be interested in and prospects for the future. for that today I will introduce you to the department of industrial engineering. We will get to know what the Industrial Engineering Department is and what we will get from here.

WHAT IS THE INDUSTRIAL TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT?

Industrial Engineering is the study of industrial processes both in management and engineering. Industrial engineering is actually a derivative of mechanical engineering. However, students must also study other disciplines such as mathematics, physics, physiology, and even scientific management. Industrial engineering focuses on the design, improvement and installation of integrated systems that require the role of humans, materials, equipment and energy. Industrial Engineering itself is divided into three broad fields. First, manufacturing systems that study improvement in the quality, productivity and efficiency of production systems. Second is industrial management, where students must study financial management, operational management, innovation management, production planning and control, and engineering economics.

WHAT ARE YOU LEARNED IN INDUSTRIAL TECHNIQUES?

In order to make the discussion about Industrial Engineering majors more complete, I will display a list of courses taught in Industrial Engineering. This can be a reference to what will be learned later. As a reference, I use a list of courses majoring in Industrial Engineering from Bandung University of Technology (ITB). The selection of ITB campus is inseparable from the big name and quality of ITB as one of the best engineering campuses in Indonesia. The following is a list of courses to be studied in the Department of Industrial Engineering ITB:

That's the list of courses taught by the Department of Bachelor (S-1) ITB Industrial Engineering. For other campuses there might be differences, but there shouldn't be too many. As we discussed earlier, the subject matter in Industrial Engineering majors is very diverse. At the beginning you will learn the basics of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Information Technology. Mathematical material also includes statistics because it will be widely used in analyzing factory needs. Later will learn Industrial Electronics which is in the field of Electrical Engineering, will learn Introduction to Information Technology, Database Systems and Analysis & Design of Information Systems from the field of Information Engineering, will learn Material Engineering from in the field of Civil Engineering, and do not miss the Cost Analysis and Engineering Economics which are fields of Economics.

INDUSTRIAL TECHNICAL WORK PROSPECT

Industrial Engineering has good prospects. The availability of employment is very broad, from small industries to large industries. Industrial engineering graduates can take on the role of several functions such as the specialization division of industrial engineering, the production division, the engineering division, the cost planning division, even the HRD division.
